Discover Our Story
Elegance in Motion Dance Studio was born from Miss Brianna’s vision to create a dance space where students feel safe, seen, and inspired. With years of professional training and experience teaching across Virginia and North Carolina, she recognized a need for more student-centered instruction—where growth is celebrated over perfection. Here, every child who steps through our doors is cheered on, lifted up, and encouraged to work hard. Our mission is to build well-rounded human beings, not just skilled dancers.

Located at 5313 Lakeside Avenue in Henrico, VA, our studio blends high-quality dance training with values of faith, respect, inclusivity, creativity, and community. Every dancer is supported not just as an artist, but as a person.
At Elegance in Motion, we do more than teach steps—we build confidence, character, and lifelong joy. Join us and discover dance with heart.

Brianna Starks - Owner / Artistic Director
Miss Brianna is the founder and artistic director of Elegance in Motion Dance Studio, where excellence, creativity, and community come together to inspire the next generation of dancers. With over 17 years of training in classical ballet, modern, lyrical, jazz, hip-hop, tap, and musical theatre, she brings both depth and versatility to her teaching and leadership.
Alongside her academic and professional background, Brianna has remained deeply committed to dance—training, teaching, and choreographing with purpose and passion. She also serves as the Creative Director of our award-winning Elite Team, where she leads with vision, heart, and high standards.
With her innovative choreographic style, Brianna’s work has been recognized with numerous judge’s awards, choreography honors, and regional titles. She is known for creating pieces that showcase technical excellence while celebrating individuality and emotion.
As the founder of A Path Less Danced, an arts access initiative for underserved youth, Brianna continues to advocate for equity in arts education. At Elegance in Motion, she has created more than just a studio—she has built a space where dancers are uplifted, challenged, and empowered to grow on and off the stage.

Xtina Hamilton - Dance Instructor / Choreographer
Xtina Suzanne Hamilton brings over 25 years of professional teaching experience across Richmond and the East Coast. A passionate advocate for creative expression, she’s proud to have mentored many dancers who have gone on to become professional educators themselves.
While she was the head of her own dance company, XF Company of Dance, Xtina received much acclaim including a MUSE Award nomination from the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, was listed as one of the top 25 most influential people in the Arts scene in Richmond by Style Weekly, and one of the ‘101 Things that make Richmond cool” by RVA magazine.
She advocates that a diverse group of people always has the greatest capacity to generate a truly well-rounded and inclusive community. The art form of Dance is ever evolving, and throughout the years she has guided countless dancers to Regional and National Competitive Titles. She has also been awarded numerous Choreography and Special Judges Awards. But she says nothing compares to sharing this insanely cathartic form of expression with other human beings. She is thrilled to be joining the EIM family.

Aaron Brown - Dance Instructor / Choreographer
Since he was a boy, Aaron D'Anthony Brown has been drawn to the rhythms and movements he witnessed on TV. What started off as imitation has since turned into unique choreographies and the ability to lead an entire class through improvisation. He's a hip-hop instructor by nature, who cultivates plenty of bounce, confidence, and individuality in his students. When he isn't dancing, you can find him writing, laughing, or drawing somewhere in Richmond, Virginia.
